Chairman's Message

Dear Devotees,
On behalf of the newly elected board, I welcome you all to the Hindu Temple Society of Mississippi.

I am delighted to be writing to you as the newly elected Chair of the Hindu Temple Society of Mississippi. It is with humility that I accept the role of Chair at this critical time and I thank the Board members for their confidence in me.

My immediate priorities in the next few months will be working to streamline the temple’s finances, make headway on the community hall renovations, and conduct religious activities that cater to our diverse community.

The newly elected board is working on forming different committees to effectively organize events at the temple. I am encouraging volunteers to join the committee based on their interest. The details will be sent to you in future emails. Furthermore, I will be starting a program that will issue certificates for students who volunteer at the temple.

Lastly, it is my pleasure to announce that the temple will now serve Prasadam and lunch immediately following the Balaji Abishekam on the first Saturday of each month. If we start to gain more community participation and interest, I would like this service to extend to more Saturdays in the month.

I look forward to working with Board and this community to build on our successes and move forward with purpose to achieve our mission of permeating our culture and values to the future generations.
