Kumbhabhishekam/Pranprathista
(May
22-26, 2010) |
Srirasthu,
Subhamastu,
Avighnamstu.
The Temple
Prana Prathista
/ Maha Kumbhabishekam
committee
and the Board
of Trustees
of Hindu Temple
Society of
Mississippi
cordially
invite you
to in the
sacred Prana
Prathishta/
Kumbhabhishekam
ceremony of
our temple
in Brandon,
Mississippi.
With divine
blessings,
the priests
have designated
the five day
period of
22nd of May
2010 through
the 26th of
May 2010 as
being the
most auspicious
days for us
to perform
the extensive
rituals that
are necessitated
for the event.
Sri Ganapathi
Sachchidananda
Swamiji of
Mysore, India
initiated
proceedings
with the ground
breaking ceremony
for the new
temple in
2005. After
five years
of hard work
by the Shilpis
(artisans
from India)
and many playing
a supporting
cast, the
new temple
is just about
ready for
us all to
worship and
rejoice. The
last step
is to install
the deities
in the new
temple at
the designated
time and perform
the various
rituals for
installing
divinity and
spiritual
power into
the temple.
For the Kumbhabhishekam
ritual, golden
pots (Kalasha)
are kept atop
of each of
the temple
sanctum sanctorum
(highest point)
and consecrated
water is then
poured over
these pots
with chanting
of the Mantras.
During the
five days
of ceremonies,
we will engage
in a wide
range of activities
including
chanting of
Mantras and
singing bhajans
will be an
exhilarating
and electrifying
experience.
The whole
atmosphere
during this
function will
be charged
with the highest
spiritual
power that
is created
by the most
powerful chanting
of Vedas and
Upanishads.
It is a relatively
rare event
in the macrocosm
of Hindu traditions.
We therefore
urge you to
avail this
once in a
life time
opportunity
to come and
enrich your
spiritual
experiences.
Mark your
calendars
for May 22-26th
2010. The
Hindu Temple
Society of
Mississippi
(HTSM) needs
your support
and participation
to make this
endeavor a
grand success.
